writing the PacificJen WEBB & Kavita Nandan, from the University of South Pacific, edited "A celebration of Voices: Writing the Pacific today", in 2007.

The book gathers translated extracts of South Pacific writers' novels, & among them French Polynesians female writers.

The anthology starts with an excellent translation of the 1st chapter of my 2nd novel "Matamimi", this concerns "Pépé Hascoet" or "Pappy Hascoet".

I found the translation faithful to the original text, and also realized it was time for me to start writing in English and why not, translating "One Pissing fly" ("Je reviendrai à Tahiti")?

I recommand the work of Jen Webb and Kavita Nandan that you can probably get through an inter library loan, or buy, by contacting the University of South Pacific.

"Writing the Pacific" was published in Fiji by the Pacific Writing Forum & got the support of the Association of Commonwealth Literature and Languages Studies (ACLALS).
